About the watch
In Rolex's long and rich history, few models can lay claim to such renown as the Datejust. Born in 1945, the model has seen many variations and combinations of cases, bracelets and dials. The reference 16014 saw the introduction of the date's quickset, which adds simplicity of use without compromising the vintage look of the piece. This specific piece, with black dial, fluted white gold bezel and jubilee bracelet, remains one of the most sought-after version, thanks in particular to the contrast of the dial on the steel and white gold. This black dial is one of the most versatile option to wear. Indeed, it has a very sporty appearance and seems to vary in colour according to the light, from deep black to anthracite gray or even dark brown. The hour-markers and hands are in tritium, which has developed a superb patina. The overall condition of the watch is fantastic, having kept good proportions and sharp corners. It is the perfect starting point for a collection and a must-have for any serious watch enthusiast.
Case & bracelet
The case has a lot of material and sharp edges. Certainly the watch has been refreshed, but no heavy polishing was made.
The buckle and bracelet are in excellent condition too. The bracelet is the original one, reference 62510H, and has no stretch.
Accessories & extras
The watch is sold alone, without box or papers. We provide a Veritas travel pouch.
Movement information
The movement is the original caliber 3035, which runs well.
In-person viewing
Our watches are available for in-person viewing in Lausanne by appointment only. While we occasionally travel to meet clients in Geneva, Zurich, or Bern, Lausanne remains the most convenient meeting point. Unfortunately, viewings outside of Switzerland are not feasible.
